Matt Abbott is a politically active poet, and the driving force behind spoken word label Nymphs & Thugs. His début Edinburgh show earned rave reviews and full houses in 2015, and was followed by a 22-date national headline theatre tour with A Firm Of Poets. In 2016 he shared a stage with names ranging from Sleaford Mods to Sara Pascoe to Ken Loach, as well as starring in the Nationwide ad campaign.

Selina Nwulu

Selina Nwulu

Selina Nwulu is a writer, poet and performer. Her first chapbook collection, The Secrets I Let Slip was

published by Burning Eye Books in September 2015 and is a Poetry Book Society (PBS) recommendation. She also writes for a number of online outlets such as the Guardian, Free Word and Red Pepper.

She has performed at a number of festivals including Glastonbury, Edinburgh Fringe and Fiery Tongues Festival in Ruigoord, Holland. She has also toured nationally with Apples and Snakes, representing London as part of the ‘Public Address II tour’ as well as performing internationally at an EU Environmental Human Rights Conference in Budapest. She has just returned from a literary tour in India with the British Council. She was Young Poet Laureate for London 2015-6, a prestigious award that recognizes talent and potential in the capital.

Keith Jarrett

Keith Jarrett

Keith Jarrett writes poetry and short fiction. In 2010, he simultaneously held the title of London and UK Poetry Slam Champion. He has since run workshops and co-ordinated poetry festivals in the UK and beyond. In 2013, his five-star reviewed show Identity Mix-Up debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe festival. In 2014, he completed the pioneering Spoken Word Educators programme, teaching in a secondary school while studying for an MA at Goldsmiths University; he also won the Rio International Poetry Slam championship at the FLUPP favela literary festival.

Keith was a Fiction Fellow at Lambda Writers’ Retreat in Los Angeles, 2015. His stories have appeared in anthologies and magazines, including Attitude and Tell Tales IV. His influences range from Caribbean trickster figures to Latin American surrealist authors.

Keith’s poetry pamphlet, I Speak Home, was published last year. He is now a PhD scholar at Birkbeck University of London, and completing his first novel.

Megan Beech

Megan Beech

Megan Beech is a performance poet. She was the winner of the Poetry Society’s SLAMbassadors national youth slam in 2011. She has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Parliament, the Southbank Centre, Glastonbury Festival and Cheltenham Literary Festival. Her debut collection 'When I Grow Up I Want to be Mary Beard' was published in 2013, chronicling her experience as a young feminist and the fight for female voices to be presented in mainstream media.

Her work has featured on the BBC and been profiled in publications including The New Yorker, Grazia magazine and The Guardian.
