Headlining June is former UK National Poetry Slam Champion, Pete The Temp. Pete has performed throughout Europe, given a TED talk about his work as a spoken word educator and has just released his first book Numbered Boxes. Joining him are three excellent poets - Molly Case, a spoken word artist and nurse whose poem ‘Nursing the Nation’ gained over 350,000 views on YouTube in just a few months, Jamal Mehmood, The winner of Poetry Rivals 2015 and Sara Hirsch, another former UK Slam Champion. This is guaranteed to be a thought-provoking and highly amusing night.

Spit & Polish are proud to present spoken word superstar Luke Wright’s new show The Toll. If you haven’t seen Luke perform you should, if you have, you’ll surely want to see him again. Joining him is the equally talented Maria Ferguson, whose show Fat Girls Don’t Dance has been playing to sold out crowds up and down the country. Don’t miss this one, you’ll regret it!

April sees Spit & Polish bring together another fantastic line-up of spoken word artists. Headlining is the multi-talented, Katie Bonna, whose Fringe First Award winning play Dirty Great Love Story is currently running in the west end. Joining her are artist resident at the Roundhouse, Joe Beaumont-Howell, community arts devotee, Desree Gumbs-Carty and Slambassadors 2015 winner, Jay Hulme. Join us for a night of humour, charm, wit and sincerity.

Spit & Polish are proud to present a truly eclectic line-up for our 19 March event. Headlining is the so called ‘Queen of British performance poetry’ Francesca Beard, whose one-woman show ‘A Lie,’ has been wowing audiences across the UK. Joining her are the multi-talented poet and musician, Joshua Idehen, the Young Poet Laureate for London 2014 - 2015, Aisling Fahey and Vogon poetry slam champion of 2015, Robin Lamboll. Expect to be startled, inspired, impressed and amused.

After a month off, Spit & Polish returns on 19 Feb with another fantastic line-up - Headlining is Matt Abbott, who in 2016 shared a stage with names ranging from Sleaford Mods to Sara Pascoe to Ken Loach, as well as starring in the Nationwide ad campaign. Joining him are Young Poet Laureate for London 2015-16, Selina Nwulu, 2010 London and UK Poetry Slam champion, Keith Jarrett and one of the most powerful voices of young feminism, Megan Beech. This is guaranteed to be a superb night full of intelligence and humour!

World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker, whose show ‘The Sunshine Kid’ was voted ‘Best Spoken Word show’ of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2015 is joined by Erin Bolens, Caleb Femi, Madi Maxwell-Libby & Rachel Nwokoro (not pictured) for a night which is guaranteed to have something for everyone.
